This kit contains the materials to do 2 complete 3D replica castings. You can therefore cast either two hands, two feet or one hand & one foot. ["Refills" (powders only) to create additonal statues can be added to this complete kit at a discount- see selections above.]
Finish Choices: (listed in the order shown in the feet picture below) unfinished (for comparison), clear semi-matte sealant, clear glaze, pearl or bronze. [Note: both the glaze and the matte sealant can be used as a top coat over other paints.]

The materials will accommodate a foot up to about an infant shoe size 3 (the average age for this is 9 months) and/or an infant hand up to about age 12 months.  ITEMS INCLUDED: 2 bags of molding powder, 2 bags of casting stone, 1 reusable molding container, mixing spoon, paint brush, choice of finish, sandpaper, detailing pin and complete instructions. [We also have a variety of display cases & bases to choose from.]
How is a 3D casting made? Mix the molding powder with water (cool setting, nontoxic & non allergenic) and insert the foot or hand. Hold baby's foot or hand in ther material for about 45-60 seconds. A foot-shaped molding container is supplied and wiggling is not a problem as long as your child's foot or hand remains submerged in the molding material until it sets. Remove foot or hand leaving behind a negative 3D mold. That mold is then filled with casting stone. Once hardened, the molding material is peeled away to reveal the stone staue. Finish Choices: (Some sort of finish is recommended to keep out dirt and oil, etc.) The clear glaze is a water based triple-thick formula that goes on smoothly with no brush strokes and usually requires only 1 thin coat. It lends a bright, clear coating that gives the illusion of depth and creates a glazed ceramic look. The clear semi-matte sealant is water-based, goes on white and dries to a clear semi-matte finish. It can also be applied over other paints. The paints are nontoxic metallic acrylics that are especially designed for bisques, ceramics and plasters.
Other items you will need (not included): bowl for mixing casting stone, liquid measuring cup and (optionally) a flexible plastic cup for a hand casting
Optional Items: permanent marker for monogramming, clear coat varnish finish to go over paints (recommended if the statue will be handled a lot)
