Your Hands - Your Trophy !
Of course using your finished casting as an actual trophy is up to you. This kit is best for single hand castings for children to adults, or for pairs of young children's hands. The Keepsake Hands kit is best for pairs of hands. [A "refill" (casting powders only) to create an additonal statue can be added to this complete kit at a discount- see selections above.]

Product Details:
This kit contains the materials to do 1 single hand casting child to adult (or a pair of young children's hands) with or without an integrated base and whether or not you hold a small object in hand. Common objects are baseballs, golf balls & artist paint brushes.
If you intend to do a casting with an object in hand, the intent of this style of casting would be to leave the object within the casting - permanently. When the hand is removed from the mold, the object is left behind. The casting stone is then poured as normal leaving behind a statue that fits perfectly around the object.
We do show a casting in which the object was removed from the mold (the remote hand). This was possible only because the remote was smaller in diameter than and directly adjacent to the wrist, which gave the remote a path back out of the mold once the wrist was removed. If an object is held with the hand (the most common pose), the object would have to be removed through the opening left behind by the fingers and/or palm, which is rarely possible without tearing the mold.

Which kit do I need - Keepsake Hands or Trophy Hands? The main deciding factor would depend on whether you are casting a single hand or a pair of hands. Because of the ratio of materials and difference in bucket sizes, the Keepsake Hands kit is best if you are casting a pair of hands (or a very large adult hand) and the Trophy Hands kit is best suited for a single hand casting (whether or not you choose to add a base or hold a small object).
Included with this kit: Plastic molding bucket, 1bag of molding powder, 1 bag of casting stone, fine sandpaper, course sandpaper, demolding stick, detailing pin and detailed instructions
Other Items Needed: Large rubber spatula or large plastic spoon for mixing molding material, liquid measuring cup, glass or disposable bowl for mixing casting stone

Finish Options (available at a discount with the purchase of this kit):
Glaze: The glaze is a water based triple-thick formula that goes on smoothly with no brush strokes and usually requires only 1 thin coat. It lends a bright, clear coating that gives the illusion of depth and creates a glazed ceramic look. It can be applied directly to the stone or over paint. (Full Price: $2.95)
Bronzing Paint: The bronzing paint is a water-based metallic acrylic paint. (Full Price: $2.95)
Bronze Finishing Kit: In addition to the 25ml of bronzing paint, included with this option is: 10 ml of metallic black, 10ml of glaze, 2 paint cloths, paint brush & instructions. The metallic black can be used to paint into the creases or other small areas to give your statue a more aged bronze look and the glaze can be used as the final coat. [This kit was used to finish the 'remote' hand.] (Full Price: $5.95)
Making the Mold: The molding material is cool setting, nontoxic and non allergenic. Wiggling is not a problem as long the hands remain submerged in the molding material until it sets. The set time is 2-3 minutes, which includes the mixing time. See the Product FAQs page for further details on how the material captures a detailed mold. Click Here to View General Photo Instructions
